Meet Judi Sherosky,
Certified Pet Stylist
My family has always had a fondness for animals. (Here's me on a vacation tour visiting a turtle farm.) Since my first dog, Joey, to my cat, Bubba, each animal has filled my life and my family's life with great enjoyment. That's why, when it came time to retire from a highly successful but stress-filled career in home-nursing. I naturally gravitated toward a business choice that I knew I would enjoy!
I earned my certification by grooming close to 200 dogs, long before I ever set out on my own. The training for certification is intense at times, sometimes 4 dogs in a half day. Every training session was hands on and included exposure to a variety of breeds, sizes and conditions, even trimming a rabbit's nails, because a little girl's mom made it a condition for keeping the pet.
People ask: Why not get out of the house and rent a store front, after years of working as a nurse? That's easy. I prefer the privacy of my home's salon. That fast-paced, crank-it-out, production line of most grooming shops is not for me; and it shouldn't be for you either. Your dog deserves better! A lot of these facilities do not take the time to disinfect tools or stations used in grooming your dogs.
I trained at the Academy of Dog Grooming of Michigan and became certified there. One benefit to you is this: I can personally see your dog through the entire bathing and grooming process; in other words, one-on-one attention in time-frame that can accommodate your schedule as well as mine. Furthermore, I can groom your dog right for a price that is competitive with any service you're paying right now! And in today's economy, the combination of a reasonable price for a quality pet styling session in a private setting is important as well as a bargain.
As a public service, I especially included some educational information on this site as well as on my flyers so you understand the needs of your pet from a groomer's perspective. In essence, it's all about health and hygiene. After all, I still think like a nurse, but with "certified pet stylist" after my name.
That's why you should bring your pet to Canine Makeovers! I care, I help educate and I do this with your pet's best interest at heart.
That means your dog will be pampered and given personalized attention, the kind you expect, but most high-volume, dog-grooming shops simply don't have time to provide; and due to financial reasons, cannot afford to do so.
My services must be by appointment only, because that's the only way to guarantee that unbridled attention you and your pet deserve. So, call me and make an appointment today. If I do not answer right away, please leave a message, because I'm probably busy with a dog. I promise to get back to you as soon as possible.
